Sept. 13 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 2 a.m. Sept. 4 an officer responded to a home in the 900 block of Gidding for a report of breaking and entering. A woman told the officer she heard someone hit her back door very hard and then saw two people walking away.

Officers documented footprints on the woman’s door.

About 10 a.m. Sept. 4 an officer responded to a business in the 500 block of north Prince for a report of theft. The owner told the officer two large antique cast iron pots had been stolen from the front of his business the night before.

Around 2 p.m. Sept. 4 an officer responded to a home in the 2000 block of north Prince for a report of assault. A woman told the officer her mother had become upset with her boyfriend because he was partying and doing drugs at their house. She said she told him, and he became angry and told her to get her stuff out of his car.

She said while she was in the vehicle her boyfriend put it in reverse and pushed her out of the open door, then drove away. She said she fell and was hit by the door. The man was located and arrested for battery on a household member.

About 8 p.m. Sept. 4 an officer responded to a report of burglary at a home on west Tenth Street. A man said he was moving out and had left the house the night before, securing all the windows and doors. When he returned he found a back window open and an $8 hammer missing.

About midnight Sept. 5 officers responded to a home in the 500 block of Oak to remove a subject. A woman told the officers she and her boyfriend had been fighting and her 15-month-old daughter woke up so she took the child to bed with her. She said her boyfriend grabbed the child and cursed at her, telling her to shut up. She said when she told him to stop, he started punching the wall and she became afraid.

She said he refused to leave but when she called police he took off. Officers located the man and arrested him for assault on a police officer.
