Portales receives beautification award

Portales was recognized by the state Friday for its beautification efforts, according to a press release from the New Mexico Tourism Department.

Presented by New Mexico First Lady Barbara Richardson, the city of Portales received a silver award at the New Mexico Clean and Beautiful annual awards for its efforts during the Great American Clean Up held in April, the release said.
