Two killed in Saturday morning crash

Two men were killed in a two-vehicle collision Saturday morning on North Roosevelt Road 3, state police said.

Jorge Ceniceros-Herrada, 29, and Edgar Ceniceros-Herrada, 21, were driving west in the eastbound lane in a 1995 Lincoln at 4:15 a.m. When they saw an eastbound vehicle, the driver swerved but overcorrected and went into a broadside slide, a police dispatcher said. The eastbound vehicle, a 1996 GMC pickup, struck the car.

Both men in the Lincoln were pronounced dead at the scene, the dispatcher said.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released, the dispatcher said.

North Roosevelt Road 3 runs along the Roosevelt-Curry county line.
