Sanchez makes cut in Texas

WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Portales High School golfer Donavin Sanchez is tied for 10th place in the Texas Oklahoma Junior Golf Tournament going into the final round today.

According to his father, Martin Sanchez, Donavin made the 40-player cut to be included in the final round of the three-day tournament which features 117 golfers.

In Wednesday’s round, Donavin was four-under with a score of 76. On Tuesday he was tied for 14th place after shooting a 72.

Martin Sanchez said his son has played the prestigious tournament for several years and has made the championship round in all but his first year.
