Flash flood watch issued

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a flood watch for Wednesday afternoon in north and central New Mexico.

The projected area that might experience flash flooding through the evening hours includes Curry, Roosevelt, Quay and De Baca Counties, according to information from NWS.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to persist Wednesday morning over the east central and southeast plains.

The heaviest rainfall is anticipated to occur along the eastern side of the central mountains and south of the I-40 corridor, NWS reports.
