New Clovis principal ready for latest challenge

Wayne Marshall will take over as Clovis High principal in July.

Wayne Marshall likes a challenge.

In his life, he’s been a member of the Air Force, cycled cross country, been an elementary school teacher and a principal at two grade levels.

For his next challenge, Marshall will take the helm as the new principal at Clovis High School. Marshall is replacing Jody Balch, who is retiring.

Marshall, a husband of 23 years and father of four, takes the Clovis helm July 1. Currently, Marshall works as the Moriarity High School principal.

Marshall said his time as a helicopter mechanic in the Air Force is what pointed him in the direction of education.
