Cannon Community Center’s second annual Pet Carnival brought together pet owners and their four-legged friends for an educational event.

Theresa Hayes with the center said the event focused on pets and their needs, as well as some fun events. Pets competed in best look-a-like, costume and trick competitions.

While the dogs’ eyes flitted from each other to their owners and each other’s owners, not sure what to focus on. The owners chatted with each other on the benches of Doc Stewart Park and let the dogs do their own socializing.

Wandering Tails Animal Rescue was present at the event, bringing along a puppy looking for a home. Within minutes of the events beginning, the fluffy black puppy was adopted.
