New dairy facility opening in Portales

Automated Dairy Systems Inc. of Jerome, Idaho is opening their first southwestern facility in Portales.

The announcement was made Friday by the Roosevelt County Community Development Corporation.

ADS designs, installs and services several leading brands of automated milking parlor systems for large western dairies, and provides specialized milking system and animal hygiene maintenance.

“We’ve had our eyes on Portales for a while now,” company President Jerry Higley said. “We decided that now is the time to get established here, while dairy producers are looking for extra efficiency and savings.”
