Airport funding on council agenda

The Portales City Council faces a light agenda Tuesday with money for airport services comprising of two of the four action items.

The council will consider a resolution to submit an application for FAA funding at the airport.

A separate item will ask the body to approve a bid for a building to house snow removal equipment at the airport.

Councilors will also consider reaffirming a resolution to receive grant money through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Michael Lucero, a water department service representative, will receive a 25-year service award from the city.
