Patricia Rael from the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office is scheduled to give presentations today on methamphetamine to local junior high and high school students, teachers and parents.
Rael’s presentation aims to explain and help youth make good decisions about methamphetamine, according to information from Portales Police Deputy Chief Lonnie Berry.
Tips on what to look for in a child who might be using methamphetamine or be at risk for use will also be discussed.
The presentation to parents is at 6 p.m. in the Portales High School cafeteria.
Wal-Mart has donated a Wii to be given away at the 6 p.m. presentation.
The presentation is sponsored by the Roosevelt County Crime Stoppers, the Ministerial Alliance and local law enforcement.
