Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Carolyn Aragon of Clovis has a degree in computer science but the thought of working with computers bores her.
She’s chosen to work as a dispatcher for the past 15 years.
After working as a dispatcher in Clovis for 14 years, she moved to working in Portales last year.
Stress diet: I love my job. It’s a hobby for me. It’s not really work. I love doing this.
I look forward to doing it and every day is a different day. The most challenging part is not knowing what to expect on the other line.
Some calls are difficult but I guess I live off of stress. It’s an adrenaline rush.
Working holiday: I usually work the holidays. I took New Year’s Day off this year. It does bother me that I have to work holidays because I’m a single mom. I worked Thanksgiving, Christmas and Christmas Eve this year.
Mother of two: I have two kids. They’re 17 and 13. We like to watch movies together. They play their Xbox.
Right now we’re trying to sell my house so we’re moving and stuff. I’m not sure yet where we’re moving yet but I’ll be a dispatcher wherever I go.
