Three Portales residents arrested in break in

Three Portales residents have been arrested for breaking into a home, taking items and spraying tear gas on a 26-year-old woman and two girls, ages 5 years old and 6 months old, according to a news release from the Portales Police Department.

According to police, the incident happened Monday in the 1900 block of South Avenue I. They said the victim and suspects knew each other.

Jeremy Claudio, 19, Kelsey Creek, 18, and Chaz Alcorn, 21, were arrested in connection with the incident are charged with aggravated battery, a second-degree felony; conspiracy and two counts of child abuse, third-degree felonies; and aggravated battery and larceny.

Creek and Alcorn were released on $25,000 cash or surety bonds, and Claudio remained in the Roosevelt County Detention Center on Friday evening in lieu of a $25,000 cash or surety bond.
