Fourth of July events

The following are Fourth of July celebrations planned around the region on Sunday:

Saturday

• Muleshoe fireworks. Entertainment starts at 7:30 p.m. (CDT), at the new city park. Entertainment by the Boot Scooters. Fireworks display starts 10 p.m.

Sunday

• Clovis Smoke on the Water 5K Fun Run and Walk, 8 a.m., Main Street

• Fourth annual Matt 25 Boat Races, 2 p.m., Greene Acres Park

• Clovis live music: Will Banister and The Mulberry Band, 7 p.m., Greene Acres Park

• Clovis Smoke on the Water Fireworks Display, 8:45 p.m., Greene Acres Park

• Bovina firework display, dusk, football field in Bovina

• Portales fireworks 9 p.m. at the Eastern New Mexico University practice football field.
