Police blotter — July 25

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 2 a.m. July 10 officers responded to a business in the area of Llano Estacado Boulevard and Prince Street for a report of a drunk driver.

Witnesses said someone who appeared intoxicated had purchased beer and then drove from the store, was all over the road and drove over the curb before parking in a nearby neighborhood.

Officers located the vehicle and noted it was parked more than two feet from the curb and had damage on the right front bumper.

Efforts to locate the driver were unsuccessful.

Because the vehicle was parked hazardously, it was towed to a local salvage yard.

About 3 a.m. July 10 an officer responded to a business in the 1200 block of West Seventh Street for a report of a robbery.

A clerk told the officer she saw a young male grab two cases of beer and told him to put them down.

She said he told her “I’m taking them,” and she was able to grab one of the cases from him before he ran out the door.

The beer was valued around $8.

Around 1 p.m. July 11 an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of Manson Drive for a report of a violation of domestic violence order.

A woman said her husband rang her doorbell and she told him he was not allowed at the residence because she had a domestic violence order against him.

She said he then went to the garage and took some tools, then left.

A neighbor told the officer he had seen the man getting tools.

The officer discovered the woman’s husband was on probation and contacted his probation officer then advised the woman to notify the judge who issued the order.

Around 8 p.m. July 12 an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of Grand Avenue for a report of criminal damage.

A man said he discovered someone had fired a bullet into his pickup truck camper top within the last two weeks.

The officer noted the bullet appeared to have come from above, as if it had been fired into the air then traveled down into the camper top.

The officer documented the damage because the man said he needed a report for insurance purposes.
