Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
The Curry County Fair begins Monday, promising a blend of traditional favorites and several new events.
The six-day long event will offer everything from animal shows and sales to crafts and baking, vendors, carnival games and rides and night-time concerts and entertainment events.
Carnival rides will open Monday at 6 p.m. adding an extra day of midway entertainment to this year’s fair.
And fairgoers can catch several nightly performances of Shenaniguns, a wild west comedy, in the midway area.
There are also about 10 new vendors who will be in the commercial barn and pavilion and pie baking, a cookie jar decorating and salsa contest have been added to the line-up of contests this year.
Other new attractions this year include musicians Josh Abbott, the Logan Taylor Band, Tommy Irvin, Grupa Vida and Grammy Award winning tejano artist Little Jo.
And a popular chainsaw artist is returning as well as favorites such as arena cross.
