Police investigate death in Muleshoe

Police are investigating the killing of a 42-year-old Muleshoe man Friday morning.

Muleshoe police responded around 7 a.m. (CDT) to a call of an assault at 1802 W. American Blvd. in Muleshoe. They found Benny Martinez Sr. dead inside his residence, according to Muleshoe police Lt. Benny Parker.

Parker declined to comment on the cause of death or other details of the case, citing an ongoing investigation.

He said there have been no arrests made in connection with the case and the Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation.
