Press release: Wilkinson selected for weekly LSC soccer award

PORTALES, N.M.— Freshman midfielder Andy Wilkinson (Lewes, East Sussex, England/Sussex Downs 6th form college) has been selected as the Lone Star Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Greyhounds victory over West Texas A&M, last week.

Wilkinson netted the game-winning goal with 2:44 remaining in a 2-1 win over West Texas A&M, lifting the Greyhounds to their fifth win in their first six games. The goal was his second game winner of the season. The victory was just the second over the Buffaloes in team history, but the Hounds have defeated West Texas A&M in two of the last three meetings at ENMU Soccer Field.

The Eastern New Mexico University men’s soccer team, currently ranked fifth in the latest NSCAA/Hendrickscars.com South Central Region poll, will visit Northeastern State (7th in the region) on Friday, before playing at Newman University on Sunday.
