Make A Wish

Don’t forget the big Make A Wish fundraiser and dinner 6 p.m. today at the Clovis Civic Center.

Proceeds go to grant wishes for suffering children.

Homecomings

It’s homecoming at Clovis High School and Eastern New Mexico University.

The Wildcats host Rio Rancho at 7 p.m. today.

ENMU takes on Texas A&M-Commerce 2 p.m. Saturday at Greyhound Stadium.

Today in history

On this day in 1789, the first Supreme Court is created.

The Judiciary Act of 1789 is passed by Congress and signed by President George Washington.

Washington nominated John Jay to preside as chief justice, and John Rutledge, William Cushing, John Blair, Robert Harrison, and James Wilson to be associate justices.
