Herbert scores twice in Hounds' win at Northeastern

TAHLEQUAH, OKLA.— Sophomore midfielder Kal Herbert tallied two goals in a little over a minute at the end of the first half and Eastern New Mexico University rolled to 4-1 win Friday over Northeastern State in Lone Star Conference action.

Freshman Eishu Kanemitsu and sophomore Diego Santos also scored for the Hounds (6-1; LSC 2-0), ranked fifth in NCAA Division II South Central Region poll.

Josue Garcia scored for the Riverhawks (4-2, 0-1), ranked seventh in the South Central Region.

With 1:15 left in the opening half, Herbert picked up a rebound from a Kanemitsu shot and gave the Hounds the lead for good. He scored again with seven seconds left in the half on a pass from freshman Luis Buosi.

It was the Greyhounds first win in seven trips to Tahlequah.
