Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 8 p.m. Oct. 22 an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Seventh Street for a report of child abuse.
Social workers told officers they needed officers present for a home visit.
The officer noted there were four children in the home and there were roaches crawling everywhere, food dried to the floor, dirty diapers and clothing throughout the residence.
An infant girl was sitting in a baby swing and the officer noted there were roaches crawling all over the swing and child.
The parents said they had cleaned and set off bug bombs, however the officer was unsuccessful in finding empty canisters for the insecticide.
The children were removed from the home under emergency conditions and placed in the care of the social workers. The officer noted he intended to consult the district attorney’s office regarding abuse and neglect charges against the parents.

About 10 p.m. Oct. 22 an officer responded to the 3000 block of Adenmore Court for a report of shots fired at a vehicle.
A teen girl said she drove a friend to the area of 500 Heaslet to pick up the girl’s boyfriend and they honked the horn and waited.
When no one came out, the girl said they left and cut through an alley. In the alley, she said someone shot at her vehicle three times.
A detective photographed the bullet holes in the back of the vehicle.

Around 5 a.m. Oct. 24 an officer responded to a business in the 2700 block of Prince Street for a report of an alarm signal.
The officer found several holes in the windows consistent with a BB gun being shot at the glass as well as a rock lying inside the business on the floor and fingerprints on the inside of one of the holes.
The officer noted he suspected the holes were made in an attempt to enter the building; however there was no indication anyone ever went inside.

About 3:30 p.m. an officer responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Colonial Parkway for a report of a crash.
The resident told officers his wife, who suffers from a mental disease and isn’t supposed to be driving, backed the car through the closed garage door and left.
The officer documented heavy damage to the door.
The officer noted a missing person’s report was issued, but the woman returned home later in the day after dairy workers found her out in the county and guided her home.
No citations were issued.
