Samplings of recent calls to Portales-area law enforcement, according to police records:

Tuesday

• About 12:40 p.m., an officer spoke with a 49-year-old woman who suspected someone stole her purse in the 1300 block of Oakwood Circle.

The white leather purse contained about $150 cash, credit cards, a department store gift card, a New Mexico driver license, insurance cards and business cards, she said.

The officer advised the woman to report the credit cards missing and see if any activity had occurred on them since Sunday. He found no evidence to indicate the purse was stolen, and could not tell if it had only been misplaced.
