Residents sought for focus groups

The new Portales Quality of Life Committee is looking for community residents to participate in focus groups, according to a news release from the Regional Growth Planning Office.

Multiple focus groups are set to meet at the end of January at various times of the day for no more than two hours, according to the release.

Each group is to be categorized based on related interests, such as education, activities and local businesses.

Regional growth planning personnel plan to dedicate at least one group to students, parents and teachers associated with the junior high and high schools to get an idea of what activities and services they need, according to the release.

They also intend to host groups interested in local business, not-for-profit groups and religious institutions, as well as a general interest group.

According to the release, focus groups participants will be chosen at random from among all volunteers.

To volunteer: Submit name, address, phone number, e-mail address and primary interest or community association to Sandy Cody by calling 359-4800 or send an e-mail to [email protected].
