Tres Amigas to sign lease

Public Lands Commissioner Patrick Lyons and Tres Amigas, LLC will sign a lease Thursday morning at the Clovis Civic Center.

The signing is scheduled for 9 a.m. The lease would help enable renewable energy to move unobstructed through numerous states, Canada and Mexico by 2014.

In September, a short-term option agreement gave Tres Amigas two years to evaluate the suitability of 14,401 acres of state trust lands located northeast of Clovis for power grid connection planning.
