Wednesday morning briefing: Ag biz, civic duty and what creeps you out

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Wednesday briefing.

Showtime

The 2011 New Mexico Ag Expo trade show is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Feb. 22 at the Roosevelt County Fairgrounds.

The 18th annual expo is expected to include 200 booths, workshops and seminars on agriculture-related issues.

Information: Call 356-8541 or 800-635-8036, or visit 100 S. Ave. A in Portales.

Kitchen tip

To save money, filter tap water instead of buying bottled water. Keep it in a container in the refrigerator so you won't waste water waiting for the tap to run cold.

Civic duty

The Clovis/Curry County Local Emergency Planning Committee Executive Council is looking for two new members.

If you’re interested, the committee meets 1 p.m. the third Wednesday of each odd-numbered month at Clovis City Hall.

For information, contact the city manager’s office at 769-7828.
