Samplings of recent calls to Portales law enforcement, according to police records:
Wednesday
• About 2 p.m., a Roosevelt County Sheriff’s deputy reported seeing windows broken out on a vacant residence in the 1800 block of North Avenue O. The house belongs to the City of Portales.
The house appeared otherwise secure and undamaged.
There was no known suspect or time frame for the damage.
• About 3:30 p.m., an officer was traveling west from Knoxville Street onto East First Street when he saw two teenage boys, 16 and 17 years old, who appeared to be arguing, then began punching each other.
The boys were arrested on charges of public affray and, on the instructions of a juvenile probation officer, released to their guardians.
• An officer was sent to the 800 block of East Canadian Street about 4:04 p.m. in reference to a burglary.
The officer met with a 21-year-old woman who said someone had broken into her storage unit in the 700 block of North Avenue N. She said she’d been having problems with her ex-boyfriend.
The woman said a washer and dryer, a twin-sized mattress and box springs with bed rails, a queen-sized mattress and box springs, and a bedroom set that included a headboard, footboard, dresser with a DVD player in the drawer, mirror and two nightstands were missing.
