Our people: Windmill man

Portales resident Bill Dalley has delved into his retirement hobby of restoring antique windmills. He has restored 80 for himself and 25 for others. Sometimes, moving or repairing a windmill became a family project, needing multiple trucks and trailers to haul the oversized collectibles. Dalley decided to donate the windmills to Roosevelt County and began last week the arduous process of moving them one by one to the county fairgrounds.
