Last time out: ENMU opened South play on Wednesday with a 70-49 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville at Greyhound Arena, while the Buffaloes absorbed their first loss of the season, a 78-61 decision at 12th-ranked Incarnate Word.

Last meeting: The teams played twice in a four-day span last February, with the Greyhounds winning 61-58 at home and the Buffs returning the favor with a 67-49 triumph at Canyon.

Of note: WT, which has won nine in a row at home dating to late last season, is ranked 19th in NCAA Division II. … ENMU brings a season-best three-game winning streak into the contest. … Despite last year’s split, the Buffs have dominated the series, leading 59-13. … Their 13-0 start marked the first time WT has done that since the 1997-98 season. … Coach Rick Cooper is 340-166 in 17-plus seasons at WT. Counting six seasons as head coach at his alma mater, Wayland Baptist, he is within eight wins of 500 (492-313). … Leading scorers are 6-2 junior G Rod Little (12.3 ppg), 6-2 senior G LaDarius Hall (11.9) and 6-3 senior G Joe Mincey. Hall leads the LSC and is 10th in Division II in FT percentage (39-of-42, 92 percent), while junior PG Lionel Foster tops the LSC and is 19th nationally in assists (5.5 apg).
