the closer it gets to

the year 2012 boss

the goofier some

of us in the church

pew underworld act

and the more folks

talk about the end

of the world

chicken little has

been recruiting fresh

troops marching

around the animal

kingdom carrying signs

far more ominous

than his original

campaign slogan -

the sky is falling -

most of the signs

now say boss -

the end is near -

time is running out -

eternity looms ahead -

the end of the age

is upon us -

the world is shutting

down - judgment day

is coming

it has all been a bit

scary and unnerving

for most of us boss

the only one that looked

somewhat out of place

was ernie the earthworm

ernie had been toting

his own sign for a

while but soon got

jumbled into the

larger crowd - however

his sign didn t carry

quite the same impact

as the others did - his

sign read simply -

life is unfair
