ITT aids travelers

Information, Tickets and Travel, also known as ITT, is a full-service travel agency on base that helps retirees, active duty servicemembers and their families who struggle with planning vacations or day trips.

Paul Hopkins, ITT supervisor, said, “this program offers an escape for airmen, from the pressures and stress that comes with their everyday military jobs. It provides the chance for those individuals to get away and relax.”

The ITT office is located in the Drop Zone. Its hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. This service offers a variety of vacation options for singles, couples and families. ITT also provides car rentals, airfare, tours, lodging and vacation packages.

To create a vacation package, an individual visits the center and informs the agents when and where they would like to travel. ITT will then complete all the research and create a package with a price range in just a few hours.

The office plans numerous local trips, including destinations such as Santa Fe, the Living Desert Zoo and the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival.

Senior Airman Mike Robinson, 27th Special Operations Support Squadron, knows all about local trips. A volunteer driver for ITT, Robinson has gone on six of their trips, and his favorite was the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival.

Robinson enjoyed the experience and said the trip was well organized. He said it was amazing to have the opportunity to see all the different types of balloons cover the sky.

ITT also plans many national and international trips. Popular destinations are California, Florida and Texas. There are a variety of overseas options such as Germany and Italy.

ITT also caters to specialty trips. “If squadrons want to go somewhere together, we can easily set something up for them,” said Hopkins.
