Friday morning briefing: Rodeo honors, Lions roar and a UFO report

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Friday briefing.

Rodeo honors

Former Eastern New Mexico University rodeo coach, Charles Chambers has been honored by the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association as a NIRA Alumni Outstanding Contributor, for his contributions to the sport over the years.

He was inducted to the ENMU Athletic Hall of honors in 2002.

Chambers coached the ENMU rodeo teams from 1976-98 (23 years), earned two national championships with the women’s team (1981 and 1983) and was the national runner up in the 1992 season.

Lions roar

The Clovis Evening Lions club will be presenting a Lion drinking fountain to the Clovis Zoo at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Improv-able

There’s a Mission Improv-able performance 7 p.m. today at the Lyceum Theater.

Music and improv skits. Free admission.

Donations for Lyceum restoration will be welcome.
