Friday morning briefing: Town hall, affordable housing and Carter's crisis

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Friday briefing.

Town hall

The city of Clovis’ Affordable Housing Town Hall meeting is at 6 p.m. Monday at the Clovis-Carver Library North Annex.

It’s open to the public.

Music, music, music

The Clovis Music Festival Committee is meeting at noon today at the Clovis Curry County Chamber of Commerce, 105 E. Grand Ave.

Good food

The Community Services Center in Portales holds it 12th Annual BBQ Benefit Dinner from 4-7 p.m. today at its Senior Meal Site, 1100 Community Way.

Plates cost $7 for barbecue brisket and sausage, potato salad, coleslaw, beans, a roll, cobbler with ice cream, and tea or coffee. Proceeds go to the Senior Meal Site.

Tickets are available in advance or at the door. Dine-in or carry-out is available, as is delivery for parties of eight or more, if it's requested in advance.
