Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 5 a.m. July 11 an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of Rosa Boulevard for a report of a vehicle that crashed into a residence.
The officer found an unoccupied, locked pick up truck that had collided with the west wall of a residence and noted the engine was running.
Fire officials were able to unlock the vehicle and the officer made note of the odor of burnt marijuana inside.
The vehicle’s owner was contacted and the man told the officer his vehicle had been stolen three days prior from the parking lot of his apartment complex.
Approximately $350 worth of items were documented as missing from the vehicle.

About 4 a.m. July 14 officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Rencher Street for a report of shots fired.
A woman told dispatch she had heard six to seven shots fired from the block north of the area.
Officers found nine shell casings in a driveway and bullet holes in the front of the residence.
When no one answered officers knocks on the door, officers entered the home through an open back door to make sure no one had been injured in the shooting.
There was no one found in the residence, but officers noted two of the rounds penetrated the exterior walls and entered into the living areas of the home.
A card was left asking the resident to contact police.
A neighbor said two individuals had been seen running from the area just after the shots were fired.

Around 7 a.m. July 19 an officer took a report of found narcotics at the police department in the 300 block of Conelly Street.
An officer said she was cleaning a patrol unit and found a paper bag containing a case under the spare tire in the trunk.
Inside the case, she reported finding a glass pipe similar to those used to smoke narcotics.
The pipe was placed into evidence for destruction.

About 10 a.m. July 19 an officer responded to a park in the 500 block of Upsilon Street for a report of burglary.
An park employee said he had arrived at work and discovered three empty deposit bags which had contained the money collected for the swimming pool over the weekend.
The man said he had lost his keys to the office two days prior and believed the keys had been used to open the office door because he had found it locked when he arrived.
The officer noted there were no signs of forced entry to the building.
One resident in the neighborhood reported that he often sees kids jump the fence to the pool to go swimming in the middle of the night, but that he had not seen anything suspicious the night before.
The officer collected evidence and noted the investigation was pending the return of results from the crime laboratory.
Approximately $200 was estimated to have been stolen.
