A Clovis High student was arrested Thursday for assaulting a school security officer, according to incident report from the Clovis Police Department.
According to the report:
- The student punched the officer when he was trying to break up what appeared to be a fight between two students, knocking the officer down. The officer got up and the student punched him a second time.
- When interviewed by police, the student said, "He got in my face and I hit him."
- The security officer received a cut to his right eyebrow about an inch long. He was taken to the school nurse's office and then to Plains Regional Medical Center.
- The student was charged with two counts of battery on school personnel.
Clovis High Principal Wayne Marshall said Friday he would not comment on incidents involving student discipline.
