Kickoff concert

Local country singer Will Banister is performing 7 p.m. Saturday at the Lyceum

Theatre in Clovis to kickoff an upcoming concert in Great Britian.

Banister is playing Feb. 26 for the Country Music Festival at Wembley Stadium in London.

Tickets for his concert at the Lyceum are available at Joe's Boot Shop, Clovis Chamber of Commerce, Tarpley's Music, Kripple Creek, Cook's Truck Stop and Sunland Peanuts in Portales.

Admission is $15 per person or $25 per couple, and includes a commemorative CD.

Kitchen tip

Try slathering mayonnaise on the outer sides of the bread instead of butter when making grilled cheese sandwiches. Makes a nice and crispy sandwich.

It's a fact

There are no clocks in Las Vegas gambling casinos.
