Police blotter - Feb. 23

Samplings of recent calls made to Portales law enforcement, according to police reports:

Thursday

  • At 12:38 p.m., an officer was dispatched to South Abilene in reference to criminal damage. A man told the officer someone cut the tire of his vehicle. He said the tire was inflated at 8:30 p.m. the night before. No other property was damaged. No other information was available.

Friday

  • At 10:25 p.m., an officer responded to East Brazos in reference to a vehicle crash with injuries.

A man told the officer that the other driver suddenly pulled out in front of him as he was slowing to approach a stop sign. He said the other driver and his passenger went inside a residence as he was checking on his friend then came back out, switching seating positions at this time with the woman in the driver's seat.

The man from the other vehicle denied ever being the driver, refused medical attention and refused to take a sobriety test.

No charges were listed.
