Three arrested in drug bust

A Clovis man and two Arizona residents were arrested Tuesday afternoon after police discovered 11 ounces of cocaine during a raid of a residence in the Wheatridge Estates in southwest Clovis, according to a Region V Drug Force spokesman.

Joel Jimenez, 37, of Clovis, Luis Fierro Sr., 40, and Luis Fierro Jr., 20, of Tucson are charged with trafficking cocaine and conspiracy, according to Curry County Undersheriff Wesley Waller.

Waller said drug task force agents executed two search warrants — for the residence at 341 State Road 467 and for a Lincoln Navigator registered to Fierro Sr. — about 5 p.m.

The cocaine, which was in one large package, was found in a hidden compartment in the residence, Waller said. Agents confiscated $59,000 in cash in vacuumed sealed bags in a false compartment in the vehicle as part of the investigation.

Waller said the search warrants were gained as part of an ongoing investigation. He said agents were aware the Fierros were coming to Clovis.

Waller said he would not comment on whether the drugs were being delivered to Clovis or being picked up here, citing the ongoing investigation.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement holds were placed on Jimenez and Fierro Sr. while it is being determined if they are in the U.S. legally.

Each of the suspects were being held on $75,000 cash only bonds as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the jail.
