Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
I usually fear the first time I socialize with superiors outside of a work setting. Just like in high school when you see your teacher at the grocery store or when they accidentally lift a pant leg revealing a tattoo, you have to remember they are people too, and not aliens.
As an adult, I know that. But I just feel when talking with the people who grade you or write your check about non-work related stuff can be awkward.
I've had many jobs and internships and I've pretty much loved or had a good relationship with all my bosses.
But with any job, I think those who are in charge choose not to get too close because they know they still have a job to do and they don't want to complicate things when they have to lay down the law.
I want my editors to know I don't take things personal. They know I'm a person and they respect me, but I don't want them to feel uncomfortable when they're talking to me outside of work about my dog or my first rap concert, and then I come in Monday and they have to be back to business. I understand their job even if it at any point it seems like I don't, and I respect them too.
