Tech. Sgt. Taylor Glass, an M-28 loadmaster with the 318th Special Operations Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base has been nominated at the Air Force level for the 2011 General Robert "Dutch" Huyser Award.

U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Matthew Caruso, 27th Special Operations Wing command chief, stands with Tech. Sgt. Glass was the Air Force Special Operations Command winner for the award which identifies and recognizes an outstanding pilot, navigator, flight engineer, loadmaster and boom operator for sustained excellence in airmanship.
"I am so honored that the 318 SOS and unit commander selected me for the award," said Glass. "My family is extremely proud of me, but I am more honored than anything. It has been a privilege to have been part of this program, this unit and work for the commanders I have served under and the pilots and loadmasters I have flown with."
Chief Master Sgt. Matthew Caruso, 27th Special Operations Wing command chief, visited the 318 SOS recently to congratulate and personally present a coin to Glass for his selection as AFSOC's winner and nomination to the Air Force level.
"This kind of award speaks volumes about our leadership as well as the dedication and commitment of the crews toward our mission," said Glass. "The work and hours put into developing a program and an aircraft from one mission set is all due to the ability and dedication from members of the M-28 program. The M-28 will continue to evolve with our new mission and grow to do great things."
