Cannon observes National Police Week

USAF: Airman 1st Class Eboni Reece

U.S. Air Force, Staff Sgt. Adam Dederick, 27th Special Operations Security Forces Squadron, checks his watch May 14 before the reveille ceremony in honor of National Police Week at Cannon Air Force Base. National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring America's law enforcement community.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as National Police Week. The 27th Special Operations Security Forces Squadron recognized National Police Week this year by organizing several events at Cannon Air Force Base and in the local community.
