Eastern New Mexico University president Steven Gamble anticipates enrollment at ENMU will go up 5 percent when the final numbers are counted on Sept. 7. Gamble expects the enrollment to be about 5,800. He said fall enrollment last year was 5,574.
Clovis Community College president Becky Rowley said enrollment at CCC is about the same as last year. Fall enrollment at CCC last year was 3,915. Rowley said enrollment numbers will not be finalized until about mid-October.
She said the flat rate can be largely attributed to a low unemployment rate in Clovis. Rowley said many community colleges across the country have an enrollment rate that matches the unemployment rate of the community.
