Eleisha Ensign, Executive Director of TexaSweet Citrus Marketing, Inc., will explain all of the interesting facts about grapefruit juice, including the best way to squeeze the grapefruit, different juicing devices, and share some fun things you can do with grapefruit juice. She's from Mission, Texas.
Judy Novella is the marketing manager with Fairfield Processing, and she's going to demonstrate how to make a slim travel tote designed to safely carry multiple electronic devices, such as iPads, Kindles and iPods, as well as your Smartphone, along with the chargers and accessories. She lives in Danbury, Conn.
Everyone will look like a professional cake decorator when you make the chocolate dessert cups that Nancy Siler will show. Siler is with Wilton Brands in Woodridge, IL., and she will show how to mold a candy cup or dessert shell and then fill it with swirls of mousse or ice cream.
Information on new trends in wallpaper and event planning will be the featured topics on "Creative Living" noon on Tuesday and 2 p.m. on Saturday. (All times are Mountain.)
Anne Martin, The Wallcoverings Assn. in New York city, will show three new design trends in wallpaper, which includes patterns, retro looks and naturals.
Patty Waid is an event planner and marketing consultant from Albuquerque and she's going to explain how to T.H.I.N.K., which means to consider theme, how, important, number and knockout when planning an event. Her company is Waid & Associates.
Rio star grapefruit lemonade
1 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (14 lemons)
2 cups freshly squeezed Texas Rio Star Grapefruit juice (3 large grapefruit)
1 grapefruit cut into thin round halves for garnish
Prepare an ice bath. Combine the sugar and 2 cups water in a medium saucepan. Stir well and set over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring occasionally, until all of the sugar has dissolved. About 10 minutes. Pour the sugar syrup into a medium bowl and set the bowl in the ice bath to cool. Syrup should yield 2 1/2 cups. When ready to serve the beverage, combine the lemon juice, grapefruit juice, and the sugar syrup in a medium pitcher. Add the grapefruit garnish and fill with ice cubes. Serve immediately. Makes 12 servings.
