Matt 25 open House — 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Hot chocolate, cookies and other goodies will be served as well as a campfire, live nativity scene, and a chance for the kids to visit with Santa.

Firefighter basketball tournament — 2 p.m., Portales High School gym. Portales and Clovis firefighters face off in a basketball game to raise funds for Rooney and Moon's Secret Santa.

Girls Night Out — 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Roden Smith. Tickets $5 in advance at United Way, Roden Smith Village or at the door. Proceeds go to the United Way.

Little Miss Merry Christmas — 6 p.m., Yam Theatre. Vote on the 13 girls participating in fundraising for the light parade at Yucca Telecom, Landall's Box Office, Western Bank, J.P. Stone Community Bank, Taco Box and other locations.

Portales High School open auditions — 3 p.m.-5:30 p.m., PHS Performing Arts Center. For The Music Man. All ages welcome. Bring a short monologue and a song from the show.

Juried art exhibit — Runs through Dec. 7 at the ENMU Runnels Gallery in the Golden Library under library's normal operating hours. Student artwork. The title of the show is Politico.

Battle with businesses — A battle to see which business can collect the most non-perishable food items for the month of November. Winner gets a Golden Turkey for most food collected. Food items will be used to fill Nancy Taylor's truck and also given to Consigning Women's food bank. Nancy's Truck will be parked in the county courthouse parking on the town square Dec. 3 to fill from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
