John Wilson of Clovis checks the site plan at the groundbreaking for the Raintree Apartments located at Norris Street and Llano Estacado Boulevard in Clovis. Wilson said the apartments are something that he could be interested in for housing.
"The construction of complex will help to fulfill the local need for housing," said Luis Ybarra, development coordinator.
The two-story, 192-unit complex with units from one to three bedrooms will be built on Llano Estacado in Clovis north of Faith Christian Family Church, said Vicki Lydick, co-owner.
Lydick said the first phase of the project will see the construction of 128 units, with apartments being available for rent within six months from the start of construction. She said the area still needs to be fenced off and equipment moved into place, though the time requirement for the groundbreaking on the project was approaching.
Ybarra said each apartment will have a washer and dryer, granite counter tops and appliances. He said the complex will be a gated community and will have management and maintenance staff on site.
Lydick said there will be many amenities available to tenants including an exercise facility, sauna, pool and business center. She said the units will have covered car ports and garages will be available to rent at an additional cost.
Ybarra said Raintree apartment's website will soon be up and running in order for interested parties to view the floor plans of the apartments and layout of the complex. He said the monthly rent of the apartments will be $1 a square foot, one bedroom (642), two bedroom (889) and three bedroom (1,124).
