Clovis Fire Department officials are continuing to investigate the cause of a Friday afternoon duplex fire in the 800 block of Hinkle Street.
No injuries were reported, but Capt. Allan Silvers said the duplex where the fire started was heavily damaged.
The back door to the burned duplex was open when firefighters arrived about 4:30 p.m., Silvers said, but the resident was not home.
A resident in the accompanying duplex was home, but escaped without incident.
Silvers said the fire started in the back part of the duplex.
