Look out fear, here comes faith

Fear is an evil, negative force that destructs faith. It cripples paralyzes, torments and promotes doubts and non-believers. Fear removes peace and tantalizes. Fear is from the enemy and comes from the pit!

Fear is a faith stealer and a joy robber. It is destructive to the mind, soul and spirit, a chain reaction that affects others. It sends out tentacles in all directions. It comes in many forms and its devious ways are multiplied heavily once a stronghold has been established.

Fear comes in "what ifs," while waiting for a medical report, when the telephone rings at midnight and in general is just plain ugly … a hideous monster … a giant ogre.

Why do we let fear grip us? Doesn't the "Greater One" live in us? Isn't the one who created us able to deliver? Let us put our faith to work and allow it to grow.

The next time fear raises its ugly head, think: "What is the worst thing that could happen in this situation?" Surely in 100 years it will make little difference.

Since there is "no new thing under the sun" (Ecclesiastes 1:9), find the promise that applies to your situation. Memorize it. Let it sink way down into your spirit. Repeat it out loud as many times as it takes to take root.

Exercise your authority as a child of God. Trust God to do what is best. Believe me that will take away fear. Besides, what can you do about it anyway if you have done all you can?

We are told in Philippians 4:6 to "Be anxious in nothing." So why waste all the time being fearful? Sing praises. Shout the victory. March around the problem seven times. Anything is better than living and walking in fear.

Trust God for your healing, (Psalm 103:3) your children, (Jeremiah 29:11) or older age. (Psalm 91:16) Then praise him for his deliverance.

Praise God in any situation you find yourself. Thank him that he is "working all things for your good for a total victory in your life. (Romans 8:28)

Do you allow circumstances to dictate your mood? You can always control your attitude. Be a part of the solution by keeping your eyes on Jesus. Then, it is his problem. Sit back and watch him work. It is exciting and your faith will still stand strong.

Declare with me: "Therefore I will not fear … though the mountains be removed and cast into the sea … I shall not be moved … for my God is faithful. e will never leave nor forsake me. He will not let my feet stumble or fall, for 'he has made my feet like hinds' feet and I walk upon the high places of the earth.' (Psalm 18:33) He will be with me, even to the end of my days. (Psalm 48:14) In death, 'I will fear no evil for his rod and his staff comfort me.' (Psalm 23:4) His angels guard my ways." (Psalm 91:11)

Refuse to be intimidated. Trade those fears for faith. "Stand strong in the Lord and in the power of his might" (Ephesians 6:10). You will be the victor! Punch out the enemy with faith "knockouts!" You will be a blessing to those around you.

When fear comes knocking at your door, hang out a sign that says: "Wrong address. Faith lives here." You will have won another battle with the enemy. You will have robbed him of his glee, plus your trust in the Lord and your praise to him will give you the "peace that passes all understanding" (Philippians 4:7).

Since "God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind," (2 Timothy 1:7) boldly declare:

"LOOK OUT FEAR. HERE COMES FAITH!"
