The Eastern New Mexico University softball team got late heroics from Kuuleiokealoaha VonSchriltz, and some late help from Mother Nature to score a doubleheader sweep Wednesday against Oklahoma Panhandle State.
VonSchriltz, a sophomore second baseman known as "Ke" to her teammates, doubled home the winning run in the opener, and Mary Jo Granger picked up a pair of wins in relief as ENMU took 3-2 and 11-8 decisions over the visiting Aggies.
The second game was halted by darkness at 5:45 p.m., as the Aggies were batting with one out and a runner on base.

The Zias (4-16) led the first game 2-0 heading into the sixth behind RBI singles from right fielder Marley Pinon and a sacrifice fly by junior first baseman Erica Armendarez, and a solid outing from starter Katie Ramsay over the first six innings.
Ramsay had shut out the Aggies (2-16) on one hit heading into the final inning, but gave up a game-tying homer by OPSU third baseman Kari Pitts. Granger came in and allowed one hit in the inning of relief, and the Zias put the first two runners on in the bottom of the inning for VonSchriltz.
The Zias wasted little time building a lead in the nightcap, capitalizing on four first-inning errors to take a 5-0 lead. Center fielder Hannah Tush had an RBI single and Armendarez another sacrifice fly.
Left fielder Kyra Sirag went 4-for-5 for the Zias with three runs scored in the nightcap.
Granger pitched two-thirds of an inning in relief of starter Vanessa Ramirez, and gave up a pair of runs on three hits. Alberta Medina earned the save with one hit allowed over two innings before the game was called.
The Zias stay at home, with a 1 p.m. Friday doubleheader against Texas-Permian Basin.
