ENMU's Blackmon chosen first-team All-LSC

ALLEN, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University junior guard Rodney Blackmon has been chosen to the All-Lone Star Conference first team in men's basketball.

Blackmon, from Los Angeles, was also named one of three newcomers of the year for the 2012-13 season. Meantime, junior guard-forward Rodney Love represented the Greyhounds (12-15, 9-9 LSC) on the All-LSC second team.

The all-league selections were announced last Tuesday, prior to the start of the LSC tournament.

Blackmon ranked second in the LSC in both scoring (17.4 ppg) and assists (5.0 apg). He had 13 20-point games for ENMU, including five of the last seven.

Love, from Woodland Hills, Calif., was sixth in the league in scoring (14.4 ppg) and, at 6-foot-4, finished tied for fourth in rebounding (7.3 rpg). He had seven double-doubles for the season, including four in the last seven games.

Also for the Hounds, junior guard Kyle Lantz of Albuquerque, who sustained a knee injury in a Feb. 2 game against Abilene Christian and played only briefly after that in the Hounds' regular-season finale against Texas A&M-Commerce, who chosen to the LSC's all-academic team.

ENMU's women, who went 7-22 (6-14) but had upset wins over co-champions Midwestern State and Abilene Christian, were not represented in All-LSC selections.
