Trailing 7-1 after 5 1/2 innings, the Greyhounds rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to pull out an 8-7 Lone Star Conference win over the Rams at Greyhound Field.

Colton Sims reached on an error to start the ninth against ASU reliever James Conlee (0-1), then designated hitter Peter Creamer beat out a bunt. The runners up on a wild pitch, and Sims scored and pinch-runner Rawley Gomez moved to third on the play when Rams catcher Andrew LaCombe threw wildly to third trying to get Sims.

After a strikeout, freshman Matt Spradlin took Conlee up the middle for a single to drive in Gomez with the winning run.

Senior right-hander Ryan Pruitt (5-1), making just his second start in 14 appearances this season, threw ENMU's first nine-inning complete game despite allowing nine hits and seven earned runs. He finished with 121 pitches, walking one and striking out five.

ASU second baseman Tyler Coughenour hit a one-out, inside-the-park homer in the top of the first, and the Rams (24-13, 9-7 LSC) never relinquished the lead until the final inning.

Coughenour added an RBI triple in the fifth for the Rams, while designated hitter Lee Neumann drove in three runs with a fourth-inning groundout and a two-run triple in the sixth.

The Hounds (19-16, 6-10) finished with 10 hits, including an RBI single in the sixth and a two-run single in ENMU's four-run seventh by catcher Jacob Rogers. The Hounds took advantage of four ASU errors, leading to four unearned runs.

After coming into the series with only one home loss this spring, Sunday's win lifted ENMU to 15-4 at Greyhound Field in 2013.
