Pair of benefit races scheduled

MainStreet running 13th edition

Portales MainStreet will host its 13th annual Heritage Days 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run 8 a.m. June 15.

The race begins at the Yam Theatre, 219 S. Main St.

The event is open to children and adults, with $15 registration through June 7 and $18 thereafter. All participants will receive a T-shirt and medals will be given for the top three finishes by age categories.

Food Bank holding inaugural run

The Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico, in celebration of its 30th year of service, is hosting a 5K fun run and walk 7 a.m. June 8, beginning at the intersection of Main and Grand streets.

The inaugural Birthday 5K is being held in conjunction with Clovis' Pioneer Days celebration.

Preregistration runs through May 20 for $25 and includes a race T-shirt. Race-day registration is $30, or $25 with five canned food donations.

Race participants can pre-register by May 20 to receive an official race t-shirt. Event sponsorships are also available.
