PRMC Auxiliary
Plains Regional Medical Center held a Pink Ladies Tea and Fashion Show on April 27 at Central Christian Church in Clovis.
Patricia Mondragon, president-elect, gave the welcome and spoke about what auxilians do.
Pink Ladies and their guests enjoyed a variety of finger foods while sipping tea and coffee.
Musical selections were provided by Senior Pastor Lanny Hemmings from Central Christian Church in Clovis.
Kathy Elliott of Elliott Marketing was emcee for the style show. She introduced each model with a brief summary of their background. Women and children modeled clothes and accessories provided by Catos, Sears, JC Penny, Maurices and the hospital gift shop.
All proceeds from the fashion show go into the PRMC Auxiliary Scholarship Fund.
Last year scholarships totaling $20,000 were awarded to students enrolled in medical related fields.
Names were drawn for door prizes.
Portales Woman's Club met May 8 with President Lois Crozier presiding.
There were 16 members and 10 guests present.
Dianne Parker, education/scholarship chair recognized Hannah Evans as the club's Hugh O'Brien Youth recipient and Kaley Johns the club's scholarship winner.
Crozier presented the students with Leaves of Gold and Wings of Silver books.
Three new members — Eunice Schumpert, Cami Howl and Janice Bimer — were initiated.
Julie Nickles reported on State Convention in Silver City.
Erinn Burch introduced others serving on the hostess committee: June Ferguson, Rosalie Richards and Gertie Swager.
Gaynelle Thomas installed the following officers for 2013-2014:
